PDF Viewer

Overview

View PDF files attached to your tickets or uploaded in Documents Management. Add annotations, sign PDF files, download them, and more. Depending on the situation and your permissions some features of the PDF viewer might not be available.

Open a PDF File

To open a PDF file attached to a ticket:

  1. Open the ticket
  2. Click on the PDF file in the attachment

Navigate Through a PDF File

PlanRadar allows you to navigate through the PDF files easily by using different tools.

Pan Mode

The pan mode allows you to move through the PDF file using your mouse in a drag-and-drop manner. To activate pan-mode:

  1. Click the hand icon

Zoom in/out

You can zoom in and out of the document. To do so:

  1. Click the magnifying glass with + to zoom in or magnifying glass with - to zoom out

Zoom to Fit Page

To fit a full page on screen, click the square icon:

Show Thumbnails

You can preview all pages as thumbnails and move between them with a click. To show pages as thumbnails:

  1. Open the sidebar drop-down menu
  2. Click Thumbnails and the sidebar will open to show the different sections and pages in your file

Search PDF File

You can use the search feature to search for a certain term in the document. To do so:

  1. Click the search icon
  2. Enter your search term
  3. Use the arrows to navigate to where your search term is mentioned in the file

Sign Document

To add your signature to a PDF file on PlanRadar:

  1. Click the signature icon
  2. Draw your signature
  3. Optional: Click Clear Signature to draw it again
  4. Optional: Select the colour of the signature
  5. Optional: Select the Store Signature checkbox to use it for signing future documents or clear it if you are working on a shared device.
  6. Click Done

Please note that signatures created in the Webapp are currently not stored when viewing PDF files. However, you can sign and download the document for further use or just re-upload with the signature.

Add Annotations

You can annotate parts of your document to add comments or mark changes. These annotations will be visible once you download the PDF file. To annotate the PDF file:

  1. Click the cloud icon

You can change the annotation's colour, shape and more:

  1. Change outline colour
  2. Fill annotation shape
  3. Change annotation opacity
  4. Change annotation size
  5. Change outline style

Please note that annotations created in the web app are currently not stored when viewing PDF files. However, you can add annotations and download the document for further use or just re-upload with the annotations.

In case you need to delete an annotation after adding it, you can simply click the trash icon:

Print Document

To print your PDF file:

  1. Click the printer icon
    Print File.png

Download Document

You can download PDF documents to your local storage. To do so:

  1. Click the download icon

Approve Requests

The PDF Viewer has an additional toolbar that will show up if you are a reviewer to approve or reject an approval request on the spot:

Open a PDF File

To open a PDF file attached to a ticket:

  1. Open the ticket
  2. Scroll down to documents
  3. Tap the document name

Search PDF File

You can use the search feature to search for a certain term in the document. To do so:

  1. Tap the Search icon

  2. Enter your search term
  3. Tap Done

Add Annotations

The PDF Viewer allows you to add annotations to your document to highlight some parts. It also offers you to sign the document without the need to use external tools.

PDF annotations and signatures created in mobile apps are stored and synchronised across devices.

Sign Document

To sign the document:

  1. Tap the pen icon
  2. Tap the signature icon
  3. Draw your signature
  4. Optional: Tap the Delete icon to draw it again
  5. Optional: Tap Store Signature to use it when signing future documents.
  6. Optional: Select signature colour
  7. Tap Done

Edit Signature

To edit a signature after adding it:

  1. Tap the signature and hold it for a second
  2. Tap Inspector

Delete Signature

To remove a signature after adding it to the file:

  1. Tap the signature and hold it for a second
  2. Tap Remove

Draw in the Document

The PDF Viewer offers a freehand drawing tool. To use it:

  1. Tap the pen icon

  2. Tap the pen icon
  3. Tap the colour icon
  4. Customise your highlight colour, size, opacity, and more

Add Highlight

You can highlight parts of your documents using the different highlighting colours. To do so:

  1. Tap the pen icon

  3. Tap the colour icon
  4. Customise your highlight colour, size, opacity, and more

Download PDF File

To download the PDF file to your device:

  1. Tap the share icon
  2. Tap Share report

  3. Tap Share
    Click Share.png
  4. Tap Save to Files

Print PDF Files

To print a PDF file:

  1. Tap the share icon
  2. Tap Share report
    Share Report.png
  3. Tap Share
    Click Share.png
  4. Tap Print

Open a PDF File

To open a PDF file attached to a ticket:

  1. Open the ticket
  2. Scroll down to documents
  3. Tap the document name

Navigate Through PDF File

The PDF Viewer offers multiple views for your PDF files. Here's how you can select one of them:

  1. Tap the Settings icon
    Select View.png
  2. Tap your desired viewing options

In case you want to delete a signature after adding it:

  1. Tap the signature
  2. Tap the trash icon

Draw in the Document

The PDF Viewer offers a freehand drawing tool. To use it:

  1. Tap the pen icon

  3. Tap the colour icon 
  4. Customise your highlight colour, size, opacity, and more

Download PDF File

To download the PDF file:

  1. Tap the share icon
  2. Tap Copy to
    Copy To.png
  3. Tap the Share button

  4. Select the folder you want to download the file to
  5. Tap Paste

Print PDF File

To print the PDF file:

  1. Tap the share icon
  2. Tap Print
