Overview

Get to know all system requirements needed to work with PlanRadar including supported and recommended devices, operating systems and browsers.

Before you buy new devices that you want to use for PlanRadar, make sure to check these requirements.

Webapp versus Mobile Apps

The Webapp is made for devices with keyboard, mouse and bigger screens, but can also be used on tablets. The Webapp requires an active internet connection.

The mobile app covers all functionality that is relevant to work on site. There are a few features, that are only available in the mobile app like scanning NFC-Tags, QR-Codes or adding GPS data to tickets. With our mobile apps you are able to work offline.

Supported Device Categories

PlanRadar can be used on all device categories: desktops & notebooks, smartphones and tablets.

Desktops & notebooks

The Webapp can be accessed using any modern browser on any operating system. There is also a UWP app for Windows available in Microsoft Store.

Smartphone

There are native apps for iOS and Android that can be installed using the Apple AppStore and Google Play Store.

Tablet

iOS & Android tablets with access to the AppStore or PlayStore can be used to install and run the PlanRadar mobile app. It is possible to access the Webapp on tablets using the mobile browser.

Supported Web Browsers

The Webapp is supported on any modern browser. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome.

Minimal Supported Resolution for Webapp

The Webapp only works with a minimal resolution of 1024x768 pixels. If your browser window is smaller you will see this screen:

Recommended screen resolution for Webapp

For the best user experience we recommend to use screens with at least 1440x900 pixels.

Mobile Device Requirements & Recommendations

Supported Mobile OS Versions

For iOS and Android we always support the two latest major operating system versions.

Recommendations for BIM

Make sure to use modern devices with a fast GPU, CPU and minimum 8GB or RAM.

Recommended Internal Storage for Mobile Devices

Minimum internal storage: >32GB

In general we recommend mobile devices with a lot of internal storage. It depends on your projects and data. You can define in the Webapp which projects you want to sync in Settings > Profile > Mobile available projects.

Here are some examples of average storage required to help you estimate your storage needs:

1.000 pictures = ca. 350MB
100 plans = ca. 700MB
10 BIM Models = ca. 1GB

Size of the app without project data:

iOS app ca. 400 MB
Android app ca. 350 MB

Hardware for Mobile-Only Features

If you want to use certain features, make sure that your device is equipped with necessary hardware and you have granted permission to the PlanRadar app to use it.

Camera: for photos, videos and to scan QR-Codes
Microphone: for videos and audio recordings
NFC reader: for writing tickets to NFC-Tags
GPS: to add GPS coordinates to your photos and Tickets
