Overview
Viewing attachments of a ticket is rather straight forward and it works similar in the Webapp and the mobile app.
While in the Webapp all attachments are combined in one view, documents and audio recordings are separated from photos and videos in the mobile app. The Webapp also offers more options including sorting and filtering.
Only ticket forms with the attachments option enabled can have attachments. Read more in Form Options.
Access & Permissions
You need an in-house user with a role permission to view, create or edit tickets and the user permission 'Tickets & Project Reports'. Read more in Permissions.
Subcontractors see only assigned tickets and always have permission to add attachments to them. Read more in User Types.
Attachments Preview in Ticket
The attachments preview shows the 4 most recently added attachments in grid view and 6 in list view. This default sort setting can be changed in the Webapp as described below in Sort.

- Find the attachments preview under the plan position of a ticket.
List View
To view a list of up to 6 small thumbnails with the title and timestamp when the attachment was added:
- Click Switch to list view
Grid View
To view a grid with up to 4 larger thumbnails with the title or timestamp when the attachment was added (depending on the attachment type):
- Click Switch to grid view
To show the title of a photo in grid view:
- Hover over the time stamp
Filter
- Click the filter icon
- Select/clear the check boxes of the attachment types that you want to view/hide in the preview/gallery.
Sort
- Click the filter icon
- Select the field that you want to Sort by your attachment preview/gallery: Title, Type, Added on, Created by.
- Select between Ascending or Descending order.
Attachments Gallery
The attachments gallery shows all attachments of a ticket. It also allows you to download or delete one or multiple attachments.
To open the attachments gallery:
- Click Show all attachments
Select Attachments
To apply bulk actions, select attachments in the grid view:
- Select or clear the check boxes on the thumbnails
- Optional: Click Select all
To select attachments in the list view:
- Select or clear the check boxes in the first column
- Optional: Click Select all
Download Attachments
To download attachments that you selected as described above:
- Click Download
Delete Attachments
To delete attachments that you selected as described above:
- Click Delete
To quickly delete a single attachment:
- Hover over the thumbnail and click the Delete icon
The previously described list view, grid view, filter and sort options are also available in the attachments gallery.
Attachment Viewer
Supported File Types & Preview
Photos, videos, voice recordings and PDFs can be viewed/played directly in PlanRadar.
You can also attach the following file types, but you will need to download them first to view: xls, xlsx, ods, csv, doc, docx, odt, dwg, dxf, eml, and msg.
With the Microsoft 365 integration (available to Pro and Enterprise accounts created after February 2022) you can view Word and Excel files attached to tickets within the PlanRadar platform. Also see Create & Edit Microsoft Office Documents.
View an Attachment
To open an attachment in the viewer:
- Click on the thumbnail in the attachment preview or gallery
In the photo viewer:
- See the ticket id and title
- Click the i icon to show/hide the photo's meta data
In the viewer you can also:
- Open the more menu to:
- Edit title, Download or Delete the attachment
- Click the arrows to view the next or previous attachment
- Click X to close the viewer

Photos and Videos
- Tap on a thumbnail to open the photo or video.
- Optional: Scroll to the right to see more thumbnails.

Optional: Tap Show all to show a gallery with all attached photos and videos.
The show all button is hidden if there is only one attachment.
- See the gallery after tapping Show all.
On Android you can open attached photos or videos directly from the ticket list by tapping the thumbnail:
Documents
To see the documents and other files attached to a ticket:
- Scroll down to the Documents section
- Tap on a document to open it e.g. Bill of quantities.pdf
- Optional: Tap Show 4 more items to show all attached documents in the list.

Optional: Tap Manage documents to open the list of all attached documents
- See which attachments are not yet downloaded indicated by the cloud icon.
Voice Recording
- Scroll down to the Audio section
- Tap the play icon to play the voice recording
