Update Plans

Overview

Upload a new version of a plan to a layer that already contains a plan. Also see Upload Plans to Layers.

The latest version of the plan automatically becomes the current version and is displayed whenever the layer is selected. Old plan versions can still be viewed as described in View & Compare Plan Versions in the Webapp.

It is also possible to create plan approval requests when updating a plan. Read more in Create, Review & Manage Plan Approval Requests.

Access & Permissions

To update plans you need an in-house user with the user permission 'Projects'.

How to access

To manage the layers of a project:

  1. Click Projects
  2. Click on the project to open it
  3. Click Plans and layers
  1. Select the project e.g. Office Complex 11
  2. Tap Tickets
  3. Open the layer selector
  4. Open the More menu
  5. Tap Manage Layers
  6. See the manage layers screen

Upload a New Plan Version

If a layer already contains a plan, you can update it with a newer version.

If this layer contains tickets or SiteView runs, be aware that any change of the plan in position or scaling will require a review and potential update of ticket and run positions. PlanRadar will support you with this process.

To upload a new plan version:

  1. Select the layer to which you want to upload a new plan version.
  2. Click Update plan.
  3. Click Upload and select the plan file from your computer.
  4. OR upload the plan file from a cloud storage service.
  5. Click the rotation buttons to rotate 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise.
  6. Recommended: Click Update locations.
  7. OR (not recommended): Click Keep locations unchanged to skip the following steps (only if you are absolutely sure that the plan has not changed in position or scale and tickets or SiteView runs won't be affected).
  8. Click Review positions
  9. OR Click Discard new plan
  10. If needed, move the pins on the right hand side to match the position on the left hand side.
  11. Click Confirm

If the layer doesn't contain any tickets with a plan position or SiteView runs, there is only the Apply button instead of the Update/Keep locations buttons:

  1. Navigate to the layer and view the layer details as described in Manage Layers of a Project > Navigate the Layer Hierarchy.
  2. Tap Update plan
  3. Select the plan file
  4. Optional: Tap the rotation buttons to rotate 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise.
  5. Tap Done
